Hello everyone! I'm India Beach. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Art Education K-12. I plan on using my major to become an art teacher at a public school. I have a deep passion for art and all things that accompany it. Through this course, I am hoping to learn more about art history that I never knew and apply some new concepts to my our art. An artwork I consider exceptionally beautiful is The Birth of Venus by Alexandre Cabanel.

This artwork is beautiful to me because of its color palette, composition, and emotion. The color palette uses lots of golden orange tones with deep blues which make for an awesome complementary color scheme. The composition is beautiful because it divides the space into thirds nicely while still having diagonal leading lines. Lastly, the emotion in this painting is beautiful. I enjoy the tiredness of Venus while being surrounded by nuisances (kind of reminds me of myself sometimes at work). Venus looks like she just woke up and is rolling around in the covers trying to block the sun from her eyes (except her bed is the ocean... and I wish that were me). Overall, this painting is my pick of the week for its technical performance and also for my subjective interpretation of the emotion it carries.
